Republican candidate Dale Fowler speaks out for coal miners

Coal

Illinois Senate District 59 Republican candidate Dale Fowler recently voiced his support of the Coal Miners Movement.

Fowler encouraged people via his Facebook page to attend a recent meeting the Coal Miner's Movement held in Harrisburg.

The Coal Miner's Movement seeks to provide a voice in the political arena for the coal mining industry. It seeks to combat what it views as a "war on coal" from the current administration, which includes seeking investments in clean coal technology, establishing a fair playing field for coal with the other energy sectors and to repair coal's public image.

Fowler is currently the mayor of Harrisburg. He learned the value of hard work from his family-owned small business. He got valuable administrative experience when he served as an office of operations supervisor for Secretary of State Jim Edgar. He also served as as chief engineer for the Illinois Youth Center in Harrisburg at the Department of Juvenile Justice.

The Coal Miner's Movement's next meeting is set to take place at the Ballard Convention Center at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 3, in Madisonville, Kentucky.
