Carbondale Elementary School District No. 95 discusses compensation of specific personnel

The Carbondale, Illinois Elementary School District No. 95 discussed the performance, evaluation and compensation of specific personnel during a recent meeting.

The discussion took place during a closed executive session, where matters related to student discipline, collecting bargaining and pending litigation were also discussed.

Soon after the closed session, there was a public session for a regular board meeting.

A number of financial reports were discussed in the meeting. The approval of bills took place as the Treasurer’s report, the monthly budget report and the school activity fund report were discussed.

President John Major then added his remarks as a number of other committee reports followed. Board member Roger Pfister presented the Policy Committee report, Justin Miller the Assistant Superintendent’s report and Colleen Doyle-Parrott the Director of Curriculum/Instruction & Assessments's report.

Jerrah Henson presented the Director of Special Student Services report, while Michael Shimshak read the Superintendent’s report. Shimshak also discussed the enrolment report.

A part of the session was dedicated to discussing the action on classified personnel. Action on classified substitutes was discussed, as was the action on the release of a special education aide.

The next regular board meeting is scheduled to be held March 25.
