Carbondale Human Relations Commission to discuss racial taboo

The Human Relations Commission (HRC) of the City of Carbondale, Illinois will discuss the issue of racial taboo during tonight's meeting.

  

The meeting is going to be held at City Hall, 200 South Illinois Ave., beginning at 5 p.m. It will start with the approval of the minutes of the Feb. 1 meeting. Thereafter, issues such public education, the HRC website and its brochure will be discussed.

Public events will be discussed, while the matter of racial taboo will be addressed.

The annual report and the annual retreat will be talked about as well. The agenda also includes public comments.

Other topics of discussion include the Neighborhood Action Group report, Non-Violent Carbondale Project report, Racial Justice Coalition report, Sparrow Coalition report and Law Enforcement report.
