Carbondale Public Library offers free ‘popcorn & movie’ event

The Carbondale, Illinois Public Library offers a free "popcorn & movie" event between 4 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. tomorrow, March 15.

The movie, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, will be shown. It's the story of Katniss Everdeen (played by Jennifer Lawrence) who, after her rescue from the Quarter Quell, awakes in the supposedly destroyed District 13.

Her home district has been reduced to rubble, and Peeta Mellark (played by Josh Hutcherson) is now the brainwashed captive of President Snow. Katniss soon learns about a secret rebellion spreading throughout all of the fictional country of Panem.

No ticket required to watch the movie, which is rated PG-13 and runs a bit over three hours.
