The Mt. Vernon, Illinois City Council discussed a resolution approving an agreement for professional engineering services with Rhutasel and Associates during a March 7 meeting.
The agreement covers the 44th Street Water Line Replacement Project.
Other ordinances reviewed during the meeting included one amending the number of licenses and another authorizing the sale of surplus property.
The meeting started with the presentation of journals for a number of previous meetings. The journals were related to the July 6, 2015 City Council Executive Session, the Jan. 25 City Council Workshop, the Feb. 5 Special City Council Meeting and the Feb. 16 Regular City Council Meeting.
The consolidated vouchers for accounts payable was up for approval as well.
In the meeting, there was a resolution to encourage residents to vote. Sections of the meeting were dedicated to public comments from the audience.
