The Mt. Vernon, Illinois City Council met recently to vote on a bid and accounts payable.
A motion to approve the consolidated vouchers for accounts payable in the amount of $786,260.73 was approved unanimously.
The council also accepted the $20,000 bid for the Salute to Freedom Fireworks Display; approved a resolution reclassifying certain public utilities and sanitation accounts for accounting purposes; and adopted a resolution approving an agreement with the Illinois Department of Transportation for the appropriation of Motor Fuel Tax Funds for maintenance of streets and highways.
