MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF SPARTA COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT #140
RANDOLPH COUNTY, ILLINOIS,
HELD AT SPARTA LINCOLN SCHOOL IN SAID SCHOOL DISTRICT AT 7:00 P.M. ON THE 20th DAY OF APRIL 2016
The special meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President Terry Waldron and upon the roll being called, Terry Waldron and the following members of the Board of Education answered present: Mekalia Cooper, Howard Gallois, Kevin Holliday, Kenneth Kempfer, Mark North and Corey Rheinecker. Absent: none. Others present were Superintendent Larry Beattie, Ed.D.; Recording Secretary Tina Witherby; Principal Amy Price and members of the community.
Corey Rheinecker moved, Howard Gallois seconded to adopt the 2016-2017 Notice of Regular Meeting Dates as presented. Roll call vote. Yeas: Cooper, Gallois, Holliday, Kempfer, North, Rheinecker and Waldron. Nays: none. Motion carried.
Howard Gallois moved, Mark North seconded to enter into executive session at 7:03 p.m. to conduct a student discipline/expulsion hearing. Roll call vote. Yeas: Cooper, Gallois, Holliday, Kempfer, North, Rheinecker and Waldron. Nays: none. Motion carried.
Kevin Holliday moved, Corey Rheinecker seconded to come out of executive session at 7:44 p.m. Roll call vote. Yeas: Cooper, Gallois, Holliday, Kempfer, North, Rheinecker and Waldron. Nays: none. Motion carried.
Mark North moved, Howard Gallois seconded to expel Student #1516-05 for the remainder of the 2015-2016 school year. The expulsion will be stayed upon successful completion of attendance at Red Brick School. Roll call vote. Yeas: Cooper, Gallois, Holliday, Kemper, North, Rheinecker and Waldron. Nays: none. Motion carried.
Kevin Holliday moved, Howard Gallois seconded to adjourn the meeting at 7:44 p.m. Roll call vote. Yeas: Cooper, Gallois, Holliday, Kempfer, North, Rheinecker and Waldron. Nays: none. Motion carried.
