Red Bud Code Enforcement Committee reviews Nuisance Ordinance

The Red Bud Code Enforcement Committee met Wednesday, April 20.

The Red Bud Code Enforcement Committee advises the city council on all matters related to code enforcement in the community.

Committee Members Present: Clem Esker, Bill Hanebutt, Mike Reed, Kyle Donjon, Don Thompson

Council Members Present: Glenn Linnertz, Clarence Nail

Council Members Absent: David Friess

Others Present: Mayor Tim Lowry, City Attorney Paul Ray, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Administrator Jeff Mueller, City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Committee Chairman Esker called the meeting to order at 8:29 P.M.

New Business

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes

Recommendation made by Committee Member Thompson, seconded by Committee Member Reed to approve the minutes from the March 29, 2016 meeting. Carried

II. Review of Nuisance Ordinance

The nuisance ordinance was discussed. Code Administrator Mueller is requested to bring suggestions to Attorney Ray and Ray will look at them to see what can be included in the ordinance to help keep properties looking neat and clean.

III. East Industrial Park Property Barrier

This was discussed during the Finance Committee Meeting.

IV. Potential ITEP Project

Code Administrator Mueller said that Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program is about to award grants for IDOT routes projects in the amount of $29,000,000. Mayor Lowry said that Jeff Rensing of OATS & Associates Engineering had notified him of this grant and is interested in working with the city on a grant request, which is due sometime in May.

Recommendation made by Committee Member Esker, seconded by Committee Member Thompson to authorize OATS to submit a grant request for the city to construct sidewalks along West Market Street and South Main Street. Carried

V. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City

Mueller noted that three members of the Planning Commission, Jared Heller, Bart Miller and Albert Gregson, will be up for reappointment.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:57 P.M.
