Stinson Memorial Public Library reviews non-resident fees

The Stinson Memorial Public Library District met July 25 to review non-resident fees.

STINSON MEMORIAL PUBLIC LIBRARY

BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING

Date: July 25, 2016

Time: 5:00 PM

Location: Stinson Memorial Public Library Auditorium

The meeting was called to order by Don Burnett at 5:05 pm. Upon roll call the following

members were present: John Watkins, Marilyn Keller, and Carla Anderson. Absent was: Kay

Schaefer, Spencer Hatfield and Leon Russell. Also present: Lisa Livesay, Library Director

RECOGNITION OF VISITORS: Allen Stanley

MOTION MADE BY MARILYN KELLER, SECONDED BY CARLA ANDERSON to

accept the June 27, 2016 Minutes. Motion carried.

The July 2016 Treasurer’s Report was tabled to the August 22, 2016 meeting.

MOTION MADE BY CARLA ANDERSON, SECONDED BY MARILYN KELLER to pay

the July 2016 bills. Motion carried.

The following items from the agenda were presented:

1. Review Non-resident Fee for Stinson Memorial Public Library District FY 2017.

MOTION MADE BY CARLA ANDERSON, SECONDED BY MARILYN

KELLER to increase the Non-Resident Fee from $75 to $80 for FY 2017. Motion

carried.

2. Review Building & Maintenance Ordinance 16-02. MOTION MADE BY MARILYN

KELLER, SECONDED BY CARLA ANDERSON to approve Building &

Maintenance Ordinance 16-02. Motion carried.

3. A letter from the Anna-Jonesboro Women’s Club was reviewed by the board. The letter

concerned the library storing historical information from the Anna-Jonesboro Women’s

Club at the main library. It was decided that Marilyn Keller and Lisa Livesay would meet

with Barbara Bauer to discuss possible solutions for the storing of these items.

4. Lisa Livesay, Director reported on circulation, programming, boiler repair update, and the

Summer Reading Program. Library Director’s Report is attached.

5. Friends of the Library Report – Marilyn Keller reported that the Friends held their Annual

meeting on July 11, 2016. Officers were voted on. The Summer Book Sale raised $365

from book sales, $365 from the sale of vintage chairs and $100 in bag and t-shirt sales.

John Watkins reported that a decision on the NHL Designation should be made at the fall

meeting of the National Park Service. There are currently 186 Friends Members and 74

Lifetime Members. The Friends will hold their next book sale in October for ColorFest

along with a rummage sale.

6. Closed Session: For the purpose of personnel employment, compensation, discipline,

performance, resignation, dismissal, and/or pending or potential litigation: None

7. Other Business: None

adjourn at 5:55 PM. Motion carried.
