Registration for the Mermaid HUB-cademy in Marion is underway, according to TheHUBMarion.com.
The program allows participants to hone their skills and learn safety techniques and tricks while swimming with a monofin.
The program will have four programs: LV1 Graceful Guppies, which covers basic skills, including balance and breath control, at 5 p.m. Fridays; LV2 Elegant Eels, which covers more advanced tricks, at 5:30 p.m. Fridays; LV3 Pool Pixies, which focuses on advanced coursework, including tricks and deep-water monofin diving, at 6 p.m. Fridays; and LV4 Magnificent Mermaids, which allows students a guided free swim to try new tricks and explore while under instructor supervision, at 6:30 p.m. Fridays.
Classes will run from Jan. 20-March 10 at The HUB Recreation Center, 917 W. Main St., in Marion. Registration will end Dec. 27. Costs are $80 for Hub members and $120 for nonmembers.
