Sparta Community Unified School District 140 Board of Education met Oct. 25.

Here is the minutes as provided by the Board:

The special meeting was called to order at 11:00 a.m. by President Terry Waldron and upon the roll being called, Terry Waldron and the following members of the Board of Education answered present: Howard Gallois, Kevin Holliday, Mark North and Corey Rheinecker. Absent: Mekalia Cooper and Kenneth Kempfer. Others present were Superintendent Larry Beattie, Ed.D., Recording Secretary Tina Witherby and members of the faculty.

Corey Rheinecker moved, Howard Gallois seconded to employ Adrianna Walthall as a Kids Club Supervisor for 2.92 hours per day for the remainder of the 2016-2017 school year, at $8.25 per hour, subject to and contingent upon successful completion of a physical and drug screening. Roll call vote. Yeas: Gallois, Holliday, North, Rheinecker and Waldron. Nays: none. Motion carried.

Howard Gallois moved, Corey Rheinecker seconded to employ Dana Weber as a Full-Time Paraprofessional for the District for the remainder of the 2016-2017 school year with a start date of October 27, 2016, subject to and contingent upon successful completion of a physical and drug screening. Roll call vote. Yeas: Gallois, Holliday, North, Rheinecker and Waldron. Nays: none. Motion carried.

Kevin Holliday moved, Howard Gallois seconded to adjourn the meeting at 11:05 p.m. Motion carried by acclamation.
