Walk-on tryouts for the Southern Illinois football team took place Monday, Jan. 30, according to www.siusalukis.com.
A meeting for prospective players began at 1 p.m in the football offices of the Boydston Center, with a workout following it at 2 p.m in Saluki Stadium.
Those planning to participate had to fill out the forms on the webpage for prospective student-athletes. The forms included a physical, waiver and insurance form.
The tryout lasted about an hour. No make-up dates will be allowed.
According to the school's website, former SIU walk-ons Ray Agnew and Kenneth Boatright went on to play in the NFL.
