Freeburg personnel committee discusses hiring part-time police officers

The Freeburg Personnel and Public Safety Committee met Nov. 30 to discuss hiring part-time police officers.

PERSONNEL AND PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE MEETING

Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 6:oo p.m.

Chairman Matt Trout called the meeting of the Personnel and Public Safety Committee to order on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 6:02 p.m. Those present were Chairman Matt Trout, Trustee Mike Blaies, Trustee Lisa Meehling, Trustee Dean Pruett, Mayor Seth Speiser, Trustee Denise Albers, Trustee Ray Matchett, Village Clerk Jerry Menard, Chief Stan Donald (absent), Public Works Director John Tolan, Village Administrator Tony Funderburg and Office Manager Julie Polson.

POLICE: A. OLD BUSINESS: Mayor Speiser asked if we are going to hire part-time officers and Administrator Funderburg advised we will get the process moving to do so.

B. NEW BUSINESS: None.

PERSONNEL:

1. Approval of October 26, 2016 Minutes: Trustee Lisa Meehling motioned to approve the October 26, 2016 Minutes and Trustee Dean Pruett seconded the motion. All voting yea, the motion carried.

2. Health Insurance Option to Switch to Spouse's Plan: Attorney Manion is working on this,

B. NEW BUSINESS:

Executive Session to Discuss Personnel, 5 ILCS 120/2-(c)(1):

EXECUTIVE SESSION 6:13 P.M.

Trustee Lisa Meehling motioned to enter Executive Session to Discuss Personnel, 5 ILCS 12O/2-(c)(1) and Trustee Dean Pruett seconded the motion. All voting aye, the motion

carried.

EXECUTIVE SESSION ENDED 6:42 P.M.

Chairman Matt Trout reconvened the committee meeting at 6:43 p.m.

C. GENERAL CONCERNS: Public Works Director John Tolan said the part-time guys are doing well.

D. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: None.

E, ADJOURN: Trustee Dean Pruett motioned to adjourn at 6:46 p.m. and Trustee Lisa

Meehling seconded the motion. All voting yea, the motion carried.
