The city of Red Bud Public Works Committee met Nov. 22 to track vehicle equipment repairs.

Committee Chairman Nail called the meeting to order at 7:59 P.M.
Old Business
I. Power Plant
1. Plant Report
Eckart said the IMEA Generation Committee has some training dates scheduled. It is the off season; therefore routine maintenance work can to done, with no penalty from IMEA.
II. Safe Routes to School
No update
III. West Line Water Main Extension Phase III Project
Notice to Proceed is dated 11/28/16; therefore the project should be finished 12/28/16.
IV. Inventory Control Program
Nail and Eckart continue to work on an inventory list.
V. Equipment/Vehicle Updates
Eckart is interested in putting an AED at the utility plant and in the two bucket trucks, using the safety grant money.
Eckart is tracking repairs on vehicle/equipment and monitoring the replacement schedule. He is also working on disposing of some unusable equipment.
New Business
I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – Meeting October 17, 2016
No. III: the equipment purchased from Vermeer was incorrectly stated at the meeting as Unit #10 and should be Unit #13.
Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Nail, seconded by Committee Member Hanebutt, to approve the minutes from the October 17, 2016 meeting, as corrected. Carried
II. Meadow, Westfield, Short Streets – Water Line Grant Funds
Eckart asked that the remaining $60,000 of grant funds be returned to the 5 year plan fund.
Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Nail, seconded by Committee Member Esker, to approve the transfer of $60,000 from the Water Fund to the 5 Year Plan Fund. Carried
III. North Water Tower
The north water tower needs an exterior over coating. Eckart suggested having Curry put out bid specs for the project in January. Mayor Lowry questioned why, when the city just spent $23,000 more for a contractor on the waterline, would Eckart want to use Curry, who was on the water tank project, again? Eckart was instructed to look for someone else.
IV. Permanent Street Program – FY 2018
Eckart explained his plan for the permanent street program for 2018.
V. Concrete Program Request – 1019 Veterans Street
Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Nail, seconded by Committee Member Linnertz, to approve the request from William Ratz to participate in the curb and sidewalk program on the north, east and south side of 1019 Veteran St. Carried
VI. 2017 MFT Resolution – Approval and Authorization of Signatures
Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Nail, seconded by Committee Member Linnertz, to authorize the appropriate signatures on the 2017 MFT Resolution. Carried
VII. 2016 Holiday Lighting Coupon
Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Nail, seconded by Committee Member Hanebutt, to approve the $10 Residential Holiday Lighting Coupon. Carried
VIII. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City
Esker questioned how far the gas line has gone. Eckart reported that it is through Rekosh’s property. It still needs to go through the Stenzel, Cowell and Simpson property.
