Eldorado Memorial Public Library Board of Trustees met Feb. 9.

Here is the minutes as provided by the Board:

Vice President Walter Baker called the meeting to order at 5:06 PM

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as presented.

Bob Barker presented the treasurer’s report. There were no outstanding issues. Janet Davis made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report and pay the bills. Mike Vessell seconded the motion. All present voted aye with a roll call vote.

Felicia Murray presented the librarian’s report. There were 2623 items circulated during the previous month. E-resources circulation totaled 278 with 271 3-M items and 7 Zinio items. There were 469 loaned items and 644 borrowed items. Interlibrary loans totaled 20 in state and 0 out of state. New patrons registered numbered 14 for a total of 5501 patrons. Computer users totaled 504, with a year to date total of 3832. Total receipts amounted to $18123.00 including $15991.94 from Edward Jones(CD), $784.53 from The City of Eldorado and $500.00 from the Friends of The Eldorado Library. The report was accepted with a motion made by Janet Davis and seconded by Bob Barker, All voted aye.

Unfinished Business :

Edward Jones : The funds that have matured from one of the cds at Edward Jones need to be moved to one of the local banks. Another cd at Edward Jones will mature in 2 years. Bob Barker will check the banks in Eldorado for the best rate for a 2 year cd. This was approved with a motion made by Bob Barker and seconded by Jeff Campbell. All presented voted aye with a roll call vote.

New Business:

Clear Wave : The Eldorado Library may be able to get a cheaper rate on phone service and internet by switching to Clearwave. Felicia Murray will check further on this matter. Mrs. Murray was authorized by the board of trustees to switch the service if the savings were significant with a motion made by Mike Vessell and seconded by Janet Davis. All present voted aye with a roll call vote.

ALA Conference : The board of trustees authorized Felicia Murray to attend the ALA conference in Chicago from June 23-26, and voted for the library to pay for fees, lodging and mileage for this conference. The motion was made by Bob Barker and seconded by Janet Davis. All present voted aye with a roll call vote.

Legislative Luncheon : A meeting between state legislators, U.S. legislators and local library personnel will be held on Feb 27th, in Mt. Vernon Il. The board of trustees authorized Felicia Murray and another representative of the Eldorado Library to attend this meeting. The library will pay any fees and mileage. The motion was made by Bob Barker and seconded by Mike Vessell. All present voted aye with a roll call vote.

Reaching Forward South : Felicia Murray plans to attend this conference held at Eastern Il University on April 7TH with the Harrisburg library director and to share the hotel expense. Bob Barker made a motion that the library pay for the fees, Mrs. Murray’s share of the lodging and mileage. Jeff Campbell seconded the motion. All present voted aye with a roll call vote.

State Farm Insurance liability policy renewal : The renewal has been received with no issues and will be paid soon.
