Anna Jonesboro Community High School District 81 Board met March 2.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The Anna-Jonesboro Community High School held a Special Meeting on March 2, 2017. Upon roll call at 7:00 p.m. the following members were present. Mr. Housman, Mr. Hughey, Mrs. Blakely, Mr. Edwards, Mr. McGrath, and Mrs. Boget. Also present was Superintendent Wright and Principal Detering. In Dr. Reach’s absence; Dr.Blakely was appointed active secretary.

On motion by Mrs. Boget and seconded by Mr. Housman to approve the agenda as written. All members present voting yes. Motion carried.

On motion by Mr. Housman and seconded by Mrs. Blakely for the Board to enter into closed session at 7:05 p.m. for: (1) the purpose of student disciplinary cases. 5ILCS 120/2 (c)(9). On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.

On motion by Mr. McGrath seconded by Mrs. Boget to return to open session at 7:23 p.m. On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.

On motion by Mr. Edwards seconded by Dr. Blakely to uphold the original 10 day suspension imposed against Student F by the administration and based on evidence presented to the Board of Education during closed session to expel Student F until the conclusion of 2016-2017 school year, with the stipulation that the expulsion be held in abeyance during such time that the student successfully participates in the Regional Safe School Program and completes the requirements for graduation. On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.

On motion by Mr. Housman seconded by Mr. Hughey to adjourn the Special Meeting at 7:26 p.m. All members present voting yes. Motion carried.
