Franklin County Health & Environment Committee met March 6.

Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:

The meeting was called to order at 4:52 p.m. by chair, Tom Vaughn. Not present was Robert Pierce, in attendance were, Franklin County Sheriff, Don Jones, Franklin County Clerk, Greg Woolard, Franklin County Circuit Clerk, Jim Muir, Franklin County Treasurer, Pam Smith, Regional Superintendent of Schools, Matt Donkin, Franklin County Engineer, Mike Rolla, Franklin County Supervisor of Assessments, Cindy Humm, Franklin County Animal Control Supervisor, Thad Snell, Franklin County Board Administrative Assistant, Gayla Sink, Franklin County Recycling Coordinator, Keith Ward and other interested parties,

Franklin County Sheriff, Don Jones reported some of his employees were having problems with the County health insurance and it was creating major problems, discussion followed, Randall Crocker stated he would help with the problem.

County Employees, Debbie Mitchell and Pam Woolard reported problems with employee payroll deductions for Liberty National Insurance, discussion followed and the board will investigate and take action,

Franklin County Animal Control Supervisor, Thad Snell and Tom Vaughn reported the Animal Control Facility had a 91% reserve placement or adoption rate and complaints were a rarity.

Tom Vaughn discussed the Town Hall meetings to promote the proposed Courthouse, Mr Vaughn reported on tourism and the recent dog trails held at Rend Lake, Mr Vaughn stated there were approximately 600 to 700 dogs and it was considered a great success.

Randall Crocker announced the appointments for the March regular meeting and discussed the agenda for same.

The meeting adjourned at 5:35 p.m.
