Franklin County Health & Environment Committee met April 3.

Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:

The meeting was called to order at 5:21 p.m. by chair, Tom Vaughn. Not present were, Neil Hargis and Robert Pierce, in attendance were, Franklin County Sheriff, Don Jones, Franklin County Circuit Clerk, Jim Muir, Franklin County Treasurer, Pam Smith, Regional Superintendent of Schools, Matt Donkin, Franklin County Engineer, Mike Rolla, Franklin County Supervisor of Assessments, Cindy Humm, Franklin County Board Administrative Assistant, Gayla Sink, Franklin County Recycling Coordinator, Keith Ward and other interested parties.

Franklin County Sheriff, Don Jones reported the Franklin County Jail population was now 100 and they were holding more federal prisoners, Sheriff Jones stated he had attended meetings concerning the upcoming eclipse,

Randall Crocker announced and discussed the appointments for the regular April meeting.

Tom Vaughn reported on the Franklin County Tourism Council and led discussion on the proposed sales tax increase.

The meeting adjourned at 5:32 p.m.
