The Carbondale Chamber of Commerce wants to know who stands out most in the local business community.

The agency is gathering nominations for an assortment of business distinction awards for its 101st annual Banquet on Feb. 16, 2018.

Among the awards that will be presented are "Business of the Year," in recognition of the Carbondale business that most exhibits excellence in growth, innovation, civic leadership, impact on the community and involvement in the Chamber of Commerce; and "Regional Business of the Year," which goes to the southern Illinois business thought to offer the biggest contribution to the community as a whole.

In addition, awards will be presented to a "Business Leader of the Year," bestowed on someone deemed to most embody the principles of business and community leadership through service in the community, and a "Citizen of the Year," who contributes outside of his/her chosen profession and not for personal gain.

Nominees must reside in the Carbondale area, and their accomplishments must have taken place within the last five years.

Nominations must be received no later than noon on Nov. 15 and can be made online at www.carbondalechamber.com.
