City of Benton Zoning & Planning Commission met March 1.

Here is the minutes provided by the Commission:

In accordance with Benton City Code, this is an annual report to the Mayor and City Council representing the transactions and recommendations of the Benton Zoning and Planning Commission.

The commission has been meeting the first Wednesday of each month (with the exception of holidays).

Manufactured housing has been discussed along with the GIS mapping which was completed.

The Mendenhall Building was discussed with input from Chief Cockrum.

On March 1, 2017, a recommendation for approval was made for a variance for Mincon Rockdrills to facilitate expanding the business.

On June 7, 2017, a recommendation was made to approve a special use permit submitted by Leslie and Zella Rone to own and occupy a mobile home at 502 East

Webster Street. A recommendation for approval was also made for Joshua and Britteny Cross to own and occupy a manufactured home to be located at 1000 Wilson Street.

On October 4, 2017, a recommendation for approval was made for a special use permit for Bobbi Arnold to own and occupy a manufactured home at 403 South Ward Street. On the same date, a recommendation for approval was also made for Myra June Hogan to own and occupy a 2018 modular home at 1203 East Bond Street,

In the February 7, 2018, meeting a recommendation was made to approve a special use application submitted by Rhonda Marlo for home occupation use (dog grooming) at 401 East Taylor Street.

Mr. Garavalia has attended each meeting and has kept us informed of any building permits.

Attendance has not been a problem with the commission members.
