City of Waterloo Water & Sewer Committee Met September 8

City of Waterloo Water & Sewer Committee met Sept. 8.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

Meeting Called to Order: 6:00pm

Committee Members Present - Darter- C, Thomas, Row, Hopkins, Buettner, Tom Smith

Others Present – Jim Trantham, Clyde Heller, Steve Notheisen, Tim Birk, Jim Nagel, Shawn Kennedy

Agenda

1) Petitions by Citizens Non-Agenda Items

None

2) Feldmeier Lift Station

Jim Nagel presented a plan to eliminate the Feldmeier Lift Station with a proposed easement through the Feldmeier property. Initial cost (approximately $230,000) would be paid by the City with a plan to recoup that cost when Lots were sold in Natalie Estates, Remlok Phase III and future development on adjacent Kolmer property. Discussion of the Pros/Cons of the proposal with no agreement from the Committee to follow through with this plan.

Russ Thomas made a motion to purchase the Feldmeier Easement for future use with an approximate cost of $6,000. Russ Row 2nd the motion, unanimous approval.

3) Water Plant

The City received a letter from Illinois American that our contract with them to supply all of our Water, would expire on October 31, 2024.

This gives the City ample time to get the New Water Plant constructed and running for the required 6 months prior to going on-line. Target date of December 31, 2023.

Currently see no problem with remaining Easements.

Motion made by Jim Hopkins to adjourn, 2nd by Kyle Buettner, meeting adjourned at 6:36pm.
