City of Red Bud Public Works Committee met April 17.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Committee Members Present: Curt Guebert, Kyle Donjon, Bill Hanebutt, Ben Schwartzkopf, Mike Rheinecker

Committee Members Absent: None

Council Members Present: Jeremy DeMond, Alan Piel, Rodney Nevois

Others Present: City Attorney Paul Ray, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Administrator Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham, Admin. Assist. Pam Poetker, City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Others Absent: Acting Mayor Susan Harbaugh

Committee Chairman Guebert called the meeting to order at 6:45 P.M.

Old Business

I. Power Plant

A. Plant Report

Business as usual, normal generation running. June URGE testing is being scheduled.

II. Utilities/Streets

A. Electric

Nothing to report

B. Gas

Nothing to report

C. Water – Aerator Replacement Project

The water aerator should be delivered in May, and they are waiting on the scheduling of the bypass equipment.

D. Sewer

Knotty Pines lift station upgrades have been completed.

E. Streets

Nothing to report

New Business

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – Meeting March 20, 2023

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Guebert, seconded by Committee Member Rheinecker to approve the minutes from the March 20, 2023, meeting. Carried

II. Concrete Program request – St. John’s Lutheran Church

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Guebert, seconded by Committee Member Hanebutt, to approve the request for St, John’s Lutheran Church participation in the sidewalk replacement program. Carried

III. Lawnmower Replacement Proposal

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Guebert, seconded by Committee Member Schwartzkopf, to approve the purchase of a 2017 John Deere Z970R mower from Sydenstricker Nobbe Partners, NTE $14,050.00. Carried

IV. Approval of Krack Electric Agreement – 4821 Blackjack Road

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Guebert, seconded by Committee Member Schwartzkopf, to authorize approval of the “Electric Service Agreement” with Lance R. and Nicole A. Krack, regarding only electrical lines allowed in their easement. Carried

V. Approval of Metro-Ag, Inc. Contract

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Guebert, seconded by Committee Member Hanebutt, to approve the annual Metro-Ag, Inc. contract for sewage removal. Carried

VI. Approval of EAP Agreement with Comwell – Drug & Alcohol Plan

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Guebert, seconded by Committee Member Hanebutt, to approve authorization to update the contract with Comwell, to coincide with the mayor’s term of May 1, 2023 – April 30, 2027. Carried

VII. Approval of Renewal Contracts with Albers Water Services – Water Department Contract Operations

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Guebert, seconded by Committee Member Schwartzkopf, to approve authorization to update the contract with Albers Water Services, to coincide with the mayor’s term of May 1, 2023 – April 30, 2027. Carried

VIII. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City

Council Member Nevois questioned Eckert, regarding scheduling of schooling/training for the water department employee. Eckart is working with Tim on that.
