City of Red Bud Cultural Committee met May 15.

Here is the agenda provided by the committee:

Committee Members Present: Ben Schwartzkopf, Jeremy DeMond, Curt Guebert, Kyle Donjon

Committee Members Absent: Mike Rheinecker

Council Members Present: Bill Hanebutt, Rodney Nevois, Alan Piel

Others Present: Mayor Susan Harbaugh, City Attorney Rebecca Cooper, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Admin. Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham, Admin. Assist. Pam Poetker

Others Absent: City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Committee Chairman Schwartzkopf called the meeting to order at 6:34 P.M.

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – Meeting April 17, 2023 Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Schwartzkopf, seconded by Committee Member DeMond, to approve the minutes from the April 17, 2023, meeting. Carried

II. Lion’s Club Request for Candy Day on Friday/Saturday, Oct. 13 & 14, 2023 Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Schwartzkopf, seconded by Committee Member Guebert, to approve the request from the Lion’s Club to collect at the 4-way stop on Friday (2-6 P.M.) and Saturday (Noon-6 P.M.), October 13 and 14, 2023. Carried

III. Request from Chamber to Host a Series of City Nights/BBQ & Craft Beer Events Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Schwartzkopf, seconded by Committee Member Guebert, to approve the request from the Chamber of Commerce to present the first City Nights Event on June 15, 2023, at City Hall Park, and for the city to sponsor the event at a cost of $500, and provide for the other requests in the e-mail dated May 11, 2023. Carried

Recommendation made by Committee Member Guebert, seconded by Committee Chairman Schwartzkopf, to approve the request from the Chamber of Commerce to present the first BBQ/Craft Brew Fest Event on a date to be determined (Clerk’s Note: September 23, 2023), at City Hall Park, and provide for the other requests in the e-mail dated May 11, 2023. Carried

IV. Request from Randolph Cnty. Humane Society - Collect at 4-Way, Sept. 29/30 Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Schwartzkopf, seconded by Committee Member DeMond, to approve the request from the Randolph County Humane Society to collect at the 4-way stop on Friday, September 29, 2023 (2-6 P.M.) and Saturday, September 30, 2023 (8:00 A.M.-Noon). Carried

V. Request from UltraSite/Play for Special Features at Ratz Park on Sept. 23, 2023 Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Schwartzkopf, seconded by Committee Member Guebert, to approve the request from UltraSite/Play to provide cornhole, bubble soccer and bounce house at Ratz Park Pavilions 1 & 3 on September 23, 2023. Carried

VI. Request from Perandoe to Reserve LP #1 – May 18, 2023 – Less Fee Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Schwartzkopf, seconded by Committee Member Guebert, to approve the request from Perandoe to reserve Lincoln Park #1 on May 18, 2023, 10:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M., less fee. Carried

VII. Request from Chamber to Reserve LP#1 for Movie Night – June 10, 2023, Less Fee Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Schwartzkopf, seconded by Committee Member DeMond, to approve the request from the Chamber of Commerce to reserve Lincoln Park #1, for Movie Night, on June 10, 2023, less fee and additional items requested in e-mail dated May 12, 2023. Carried
