City of Red Bud Cultural Committee met July 24.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Committee Members Present: Ben Schwartzkopf, Jeremy DeMond, Mike Rheinecker, Curt Guebert, Kyle Donjon

Committee Members Absent: None

Council Members Present: Bill Hanebutt, Alan Piel

Council Members Absent: Rodney Nevois

Others Present: Mayor Susan Harbaugh, City Attorney Richard Cooper, Code Admin./City Engineer Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham, City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Others Absent: City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Admin. Assist. Pam Poetker

Committee Chairman Schwartzkopf called the meeting to order at 6:17 P.M.

New Business

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – Meeting June 19, 2023

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Schwartzkopf, seconded by Committee Member DeMond, to approve the minutes from the June 19, 2023, meeting. Motion Carried

II. Request from Girl Scout Service Unit 57 to Use Ratz Park #1, Less Fee, August 13, 2023

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Schwartzkopf, seconded by Committee Member DeMond to authorized approval of the request from the Girl Scouts Service Unit 57 to reserve Ratz Park #1, Sunday, August 13, 2023, less fee, for their annual bridging ceremonies. Motion Carried.

III. Request from St. John’s Lutheran for Use of Lincoln Park for a School Cross Country Meet on September 8, 2023

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Schwartzkopf, seconded by Committee Member Guebert to authorized approval of the request from St. John’s Lutheran School to reserve Lincoln Park for a track meet on September 8, 2023, with setup on September 7, 2023, less fee. Motion Carried.

IV. Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament – Team and Hole Sponsor

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Schwartzkopf, seconded by Committee Member Donjon to authorized approval to sponsor a team and a hole at the Annual Red Bud Chamber of Commerce 4 Person Golf Scramble on September 8, 2023. Motion Carried.

V. Request from Red Bud Beautification to Collect at 4-Way on November 10 & 11, 2023

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Schwartzkopf, seconded by Committee Member Rheinecker, to authorized approval of the request from the Red Bud Beautification Committee to collect at the 4-way on November 10, 2023, 2:00-5:00 P.M. and on November 11, 2023, 8:00 A.M. - Noon. Motion Carried.

VI. Request from Chamber for Holiday Lighted Parade Resolution No. 23-002

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Schwartzkopf, seconded by Committee Member Donjon to authorize approval of RESOLUTION NO. 23-002: “A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPROVAL OF THE STREET CLOSING FOR THE RED BUD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE LIGHTED PARADE/HOLIDAY HAPPENINGS” on Friday, November 24, 2023, 5:30-7:30 P.M. Motion Carried.

VII. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City

Mayor Harbaugh asked that anyone interested in playing on the city team for the Chamber Golf Tournament, please let her know.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:20 P.M.
