Rep. Friess Collaborates with Red Bud Police Department for Rx Drop-Off Event

State Representative David Friess is set to host an Rx Drop-Off event in collaboration with the Red Bud Police Department on April 27th in Red Bud, Illinois. The event aims to provide a safe and convenient method for residents to dispose of unused prescription drugs.

"As a community, it’s important that we take proactive steps to ensure the safe disposal of prescription drugs," emphasized Rep. Friess. He highlighted the significance of responsible medication disposal practices, stating, "By hosting this Rx Drop-Off event with the Red Bud Police Department, we’re providing a convenient and responsible solution for our residents to dispose of medications they no longer need. Together, we can safeguard our community’s health."

The event, scheduled from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Red Bud Police Department, will be conducted outdoors, allowing participants to stay in their vehicles during the drop-off process. To maintain a smooth flow of traffic, drivers are advised to adhere to the marked lanes when entering and exiting the parking lot.

Expressing appreciation for the collaboration, Rep. Friess extended gratitude to the Red Bud Police Department for their dedication to community wellness. Together, they aim to promote responsible medication disposal practices and ensure the well-being of the community.

Accepted medications for drop-off include tablets, capsules, patches, vaping devices and cartridges (with lithium batteries removed), and pet medications. However, liquids, syringes, and needles are restricted items at the event.
