City of Red Bud Recreational Facilities Committee met March 18.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Committee Members Present: Rodney Nevois, Alan Piel, Jeremy DeMond Committee Members Absent: Kyle Donjon, Bill Hanebutt

Council Members Present: Curt Guebert, Mike Rheinecker Council Members Absent: Ben Schwartzkopf

Others Present: Mayor Susan Harbaugh, City Attorney Rick Cooper, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Admin./City Engineer Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham, City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Mayor Harbaugh called the meeting to order at 6:43 P.M.

Old Business

I. Ratz Park Project Update

Jeff Mueller said all contract documents have been submitted and approved. Nevois Construction is waiting on preliminary staking, and work is expected to start in the next couple of weeks. The next report is due to IDNR on April 15th.

New Business

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – February 19, 2024

Recommendation made by Committee Member Piel, seconded by Committee Member Nevois to approve the minutes from the February 19, 2024, meeting. Carried

II. Red Bud Athletic Association Sports Complex Request for April 27, 2024

Recommendation made by Committee Member Nevois, seconded by Committee Member DeMond to authorize approval of the request from RBAA for the 2024 Red Bud Athletic Association Day, including bounce houses and temporary electric on April 27, 2024, at the Sports Complex, 10:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M. Carried

III. Financial Planning

Recommendation made by Committee Member Nevois, seconded by Committee Member Piel to authorize approval utilizing funds as presented in the financial plan for the OSLAD Grant, $400,000 – Parks Capital Plan, $400,000 – borrowed from the Opportunity Reserve and $9,000 from the Parks Operating Fund. Carried

Recommendation made by Committee Member Piel, seconded by Committee Member Nevois to authorize approval to move $350,000 from the Parks Capital Plan to the Economic Development Capital Plan, for development of the business park. Carried

IV. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City None

The meeting was adjourned at 6:46 P.M.
