APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Muna Conley moved, seconded by Joe LaChica, “To approve the minutes of the December 17, 2025, Special Board Meeting, January 8, 2026, Regular Board Meeting, and the February 2, 2026, Special Board Meeting.” Upon roll call, the vote was as follows: Aye: LaChica, Conley, Sinnott-Snooks, Tannehill, Pierce, Warrick, Zaker. Nay: none. The motion carried 7-0.
CONSENT AGENDA
Harry Tannehill moved, seconded by Jennifer Warrick, “To approve the Consent Agenda.” Upon roll call, the vote was as follows: Aye: Sinnott-Snooks, Warrick, Tannehill, Pierce, Zaker, Conley, LaChica. Nay: none. The motion carried 7-0.
FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT
Steve Gress stated that we received a FOIA from CT Mills, Steve Watts, Bill Meyer and Judiciocray and were responded to in time.
EDUCATIONAL REPORT
Craig Gwaltney discussed the District’s enrollment with the Board. Next year’s numbers will become clearer once we see the kindergarten enrollment figures.
Harry Tannehill moved, seconded by Lori Pierce, “To adopt 2026-2027 School Calendar as presented by the Board Calendar Committee.” Aye: Warrick, Pierce, Zaker, Conley, LaChica, Sinnott-Snooks, Tannehill. Nay: none. The motion carried 7-0.
Joe LaChica moved seconded by Jennifer Warrick, “To approve the field trip for Stony Creek on April 9 & 10, 2026, and Lane School on April 29, 2026, to Purdue New Challenger Learning Center, 2300 173rd Street Hammond, IN 46323.” Upon roll call, the vote was as follows: Aye: Pierce, Zaker, Conley, Warrick, LaChica, Sinnott-Snooks, Tannehill. Nay: none. The motion carried 7-0
OLD BUSINESS
Harry Tannehill moved, seconded by Lori Pierce, “To approve going out to bid with Tria Architecture for the Hazelgreen Gym Curtain.” Aye: Warrick, Zaker, Tannehill, Pierce, LaChica, Conley, Sinnott-Snooks. Nay: none. The motion carried 7-0.
NEW BUSINESS
Joe LaChica moved, seconded by Therese Zaker, “To adopt the Resolution Regarding Transportation Serious Safety Hazards for the 2025-2026 school year.” Upon roll call, the vote was as follows: Aye: Warrick, Pierce, Zaker, LaChica, Sinnott-Snooks, Tannehill, Conley. Nay: none. The motion carried 7-0.
CLOSED SESSION
Joe LaChica moved, seconded by Harry Tannehill, “To go into Closed Session to consider the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees in the district or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity.” Upon roll call, the vote was as follows: Aye: LaChica, Sinnott-Snooks, Conley, Warrick, Tannehill, Pierce, Zaker. Nay: none. The motion carried 7-0 at 6:50 p.m.
Harry Tannehill moved, seconded by Donna Waldrom, “To go come out of Closed Session.” Upon roll call, the vote was as follows: Aye: Pierce, Zaker, Conley, Warrick, LaChica, Sinnott-Snooks, Tannehill. Nay: none. The motion carried 7-0 at 7:54 p.m.
