A new bill introduced in the Illinois House aims to provide greater transparency regarding the use of taxpayer funds by nongovernmental organizations. House Bill 5613 is designed to help residents track how public money is allocated and spent outside of government agencies.

The legislation was introduced by State Representative David Friess, a Republican who began representing Illinois’ 115th House District in 2023 after succeeding Nathan Reitz.
