City of Du Quoin City Council Met June 2.

Minutes:  

The Minutes of the City Council Special Meeting of the City of Du Quoin, County of Perry was held in the Council Chambers of the Du Quoin City Hall.  

Call to Order:  

Mayor Alongi called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. with the following individuals attending  Commissioners Chuck Genesio and Mike Ward. Attending via teleconferencing Commissioners Jill  Kirkpatrick and Bob Karnes. City staff present included City Attorney Aaron Atkins, City Clerk Ruth  Hale, and Special Project Coordinator Chuck Novak. 

Ordinances:  

A. Ordinance 2021-O06-01: An Ordinance providing for the issuance of not to exceed $10,000,000 of  Taxable General Obligation Bonds of the City to fund all or a portion of the City’s unfunded police and  fire pension fund liabilities; providing for the levy and collection of property taxes to pay the principal  and interest on the bonds; and authorizing the sale of the bonds to Stifel Nicolaus (Public Display) 

Motion:  Commissioner Genesio 

Second: Commissioner Karnes
