City of Red Bud Parks and Recreation Commission met Jan. 6.
Here is the agenda provided by the commission:
Members present: Tim Fahey, Wil Krick, Deb Opel, Terri Reed,
Members absent: Jim Birke, Kyle Herriman, Ryan Koudela, Winnie Rehmer, and Matt Shields
Others Present: Kyle Donjon
The meeting was called to order by Tim Fahey at Red Bud City Hall at 6:00 PM.
The minutes of the November meeting were approved as presented.
DOG PARK
• nothing to report
SPLASH PAD
• Discussed water and sewer bill
POOL
• Josh reported to Tim they were ready to tear up pool decking to get to piping.
• Discussed new information about possible reasons pool expenses were up
– Salaries were higher.
• Did sell more passes and had more pool parties
LINCOLN PARK/MUSKETS FIELD
• Ryan reported nothing needed at Musket Field at this time
• Wind screens down at Pickle Ball courts. Received new cables for installation in spring.
• Discussed installing new signs for Lincoln Park
RATZ PARK
• New hour sign is installed
SPORTS COMPLEX
• Kyle was ill. No news or updates from RBAA
COMMUNITY GARDEN
• Jim was ill.
• The Community Garden has a large wooden ramp sitting near garden boxes. Tim will investigate.
RED BUD CHAMBER
• nothing to report
OTHER BUSINESS
• Discussed installing new signs for Lincoln Park
• Work Day for Parks will be set at February meeting (repair and paint bench swing, repair brick barbecue pit at Centennial Pavilion, repaint large slide to name a few projects at this time)
• Questioned if the Parks and Recreation are still receiving the gambling monies? Curious of how much or percentage of the amount collected does it get.
• Tim reported he helped write a Grant with the Community Foundation of Red Bud for $5000.00.
• Discussed purchasing and planting new trees
