McDonough County Board Finance Committee Met Aug. 11.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The monthly Finance Committee meeting was held at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Law library. Committee members present were Chair Travis Hiel, Vice Chair Larry Aurelio, Letha Clark, Dave Cortelyou, Mike Cox, and Joe Erlandson. Member absent was Dave Nissen. Others in attendance included County Chair Scott Schwerer, and County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes.

Chair Hiel called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Review and Approve Minutes from July 14, 2021

Vice Chair Aurelio moved with a second by Member Clark to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Public defender- Stephanie Hilton

Stephanie Hilton was present to present her Budget. Public Defender Hilton discussed a contract with an outside attorney William Breedlove to handle Sexually Violent Predator, and Sexually Dangerous Predator cases for $65.00 an hour. Vice Chair Aurelio moved with a second by Member Cortelyou to approve entering into a contract with William Breedlove to handle Sexually Violent Predator, and Sexually Dangerous Predator cases from present to 11/30/2021.

MCPT Report Review & Approval

The monthly request for July 2021 was reviewed. Vice Chair Aurelio moved with a second by Member Erlandson to approve the MCPT Report in the amount of $1,039.50 for July, 2021. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Bushnell Senior Meals Report Review & Approval

The monthly report for July 2021 from the YMCA for transportation of senior meals was reviewed. Vice Chair Aurelio moved with a second by Member Clark to approve the July 2021 YMCA report in the amount of $794.11. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Coroner Report

The monthly Coroner Report was received and filed.

Monthly Financial Reports

The monthly Financial Reports were received and filed.

Transfer of Funds

None

Warrants Issued in Vacation

Vice Chair Aurelio moved with a second by Member Clark to approve the Warrants Issued in Vacation. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Approval of Claims

Member Clark moved with a second by Member Cortelyou to approve the Claims as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Executive Session

Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Vice Chair Aurelio to enter into Executive Session Pursuant to Chapter 5, Illinois Compiled Statutes Section 120/2 © (1) (2) and (11) to discuss employee litigation.

Discuss ARPA Fund

The Committee discussed how to spend the ARPA Fund money. County Clerk DeJaynes will compile a list of all suggestions and send them to the Board to prioritize.

Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Vice Chair Aurelio to adjourn the meeting at 8:14 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
