Illinois American Water to Make Treatment Change as Part of Ultraviolet Disinfection Installation at Water Treatment Plant

This week, Illinois American Water’s Metro East water system will undergo a treatment change as a part of a project to install Ultraviolet Disinfection (UV) at the Water Treatment Plant located near East St. Louis. This treatment change is temporary. Work will also include the flushing of water mains and fire hydrants. This work will occur across the Metro East water distribution system for the next month.
