Sparta Community Hospital is initiating an educational series focused on diabetes management. The series begins with a session titled “Understanding Diabetes,” led by Registered Dietitian Courtney Johnson. It will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in Broadway Plaza Auxiliary Room A.

The session aims to educate attendees on diabetes fundamentals such as important facts, risk factors, and both medical and lifestyle management strategies. The goal is to equip individuals with practical knowledge to promote healthier living.

Beyond the initial session, the series will continue with topics related to diabetes education:

– Nutrition for Diabetes, on May 1
– Diabetes & Heart Health, on May 15
– Physical Activity & Medication Management, on May 29
– Meal Planning, on June 12
– Sustaining Healthy Habits, on June 26

All sessions are scheduled to take place at 10:00 a.m. in the same venue.

“These sessions are a great opportunity for anyone managing diabetes or looking to prevent it,” commented Johnson. “Education is a key component in promoting long-term health and wellness.”

The hospital advises potential attendees to reserve their spots due to limited space by calling 618-443-1435.
