La Salle City Council considers parking restrictions on portion of Sterling Street

La Salle City Council met at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3.

The La Salle City Council includes the mayor and eight council members — two each from each of the city’s four wards. Regular meetings are held at 7 p.m. every other Tuesday in city council chambers, 745 Second St.

Request from Catholic War Veterans Post #1229 for a 2017 Raffle License.

REPORTS OF CITY OFFICERS Treasurer’s Report for November 2016 showing cash balances in the La Salle State Bank of $8,822,989.24 and in Hometown National Bank of $70,806.74.

COMMUNICATIONS

STANDING COMMITTEES Discussion and potential action regarding the recommendation of the Streets, Alleys and Traffic Committee concerning a request from Rudy Gutierrez, resident of 119 First Street for a “Resident Only Parking” sign in front of his home.

SPECIAL COMMITTEES

OLD BUSINESS 

Authorization of Pay Estimate #3 and Final to Opperman Construction Co. totaling $106,788.60 for the St. Vincent Lift Station Replacement and related matters.

NEW BUSINESS

ORDINANCES/RESOLUTIONS 

An Ordinance Further Regulating Parking within The City of La Salle on a Portion of Sterling Street between Fourth and Fifth Street and related matters.

Ordinance and Resolution Ratifying and Confirming Acquisition and Ratifying, Confirming and Further Authorizing Disposition and Sale of Real Estate at 459 First Street La Salle, Illinois and related matters.

COMMENTS

EXECUTIVE SESSION Regarding pending and/or potential imminent litigation and related matters: Collective bargaining and related matters, and acquisition and/or sale of city real estate and related matters and the employment, appointment, performance and/or compensation of non-union personnel and related matters pursuant to the Open Meetings Act including 5-ILCS 120 Section 2(c)1-3,5,6,and 11 thereof.
