La Salle City Council authorizes sidewalk replacement

The La Salle City Council met Jan. 17 to authorize sidewalk replacement.

PRESENTATION

Mike Wagner of AMS Building Management to address the council regarding a possible

Valet Parking Ordinance within the City of La Salle and related matters.

PETITIONS

Request from Illinois Valley Alzheimer’s Group, Carrie-All Inc. dba Rephils, Club 55,

Peru Education Foundation, La Salle-Peru Township High School Foundation and the

Lighted Way Foundation for 2017 Raffle Licenses.

Request from Ameren Illinois to break ground at 238 Wright Street to replace bad ug

electric.

Request for a Sign Permit from Gail Kozel for a 5’ x10’ single faced, non-illuminated

wall sign for Senior Watchdog Inc. located at 801 Second Street and related matters.

REPORTS OF CITY OFFICERS

Treasurer’s Report for December 2016 showing total cash balances in the La Salle

State Bank of $8,261,490.25 and in Hometown National Bank of $108,660.44.

COMMUNICATIONS

STANDING COMMITTEES

Discussion and potential action regarding recommendation of the Finance Committee

concerning the Financial Audit Report for the City of La Salle for the fiscal year ending

April 30, 2016 and related matters.

Discussion and potential action regarding recommendation of the Streets, Alleys and

Traffic Committee concerning the request from Rudy Gutierrez, resident of 119 First

Street for a “Resident Parking Only” sign in front of his home and related matters.

Discussion and potential action regarding recommendation of the Streets, Alleys and

Traffic Committee concerning a request to designate “ No Parking” one car length on

the east side of Creve Coeur north of 9th Street and related matters.

Discussion and potential action regarding a Construction Observation Agreement

between Dixon Engineering Inc. and the City of La Salle for the 1,000,000 Gallon

Hydro-Pillar project (Civic Tower) not to exceed $26,684.90 and related matters.

ORDINANCES/RESOLUTIONS

Resolution 201701 requesting authorization from the Illinois Department of

Transportation to allow the City of La Salle to proceed with sidewalk

removal/replacement on US Route 6 and related matters.

COMMENTS

EXECUTIVE SESSION

Regarding pending and/or potential imminent litigation and related matters: Collective

bargaining and related matters, and acquisition and/or sale of city real estate and

related matters and the employment, appointment, performance and/or compensation

of non-union personnel and related matters pursuant to the Open Meetings Act

including 5-ILCS 120 Section 2(c)1-3,5,6,and 11 thereof.
