South Moline Township Board of Trustee met March 20.

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

Present — Tracy Best, Supervisor; Karin Martin, Assessor; Andrea Anderson, Trustee; Brian

Forsberg, Trustee; Kim Lazenby, Trustee; and Rob Vyncke, Clerk. Also, present: Luis Puentes.

Absent: Lisa Griffin, Trustee and Bob Schultz, Road Commissioner.

Meeting Called to Order — Meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Supervisor Best.

Pledge of Allegiance

Approval of Minutes — Motion by Anderson, second by Forsberg, that we approve the

minutes of March 07, 2017. Motion carried, with all voting in favor.

Officials' Reports —

a. Road Commissioner — Per Best, they have been replacing some culverts and doing

some patch work. They have mainly been doing winter weather repair.

b. Assessor — Everything is going fine. Seniors are still coming in constantly.

c. Clerk — We are getting ready for the town meeting.

d. Trustees — Lazenby asked why the board does not receive annual reports showing what

is donated by the Youth Fund. Best stated that it is on our WEB Page and no one has ever

requested one. Best will get Lazenby the current list of youth organizations that we have

donated to.

e. Cemetery — We did some clean up from a recent wind storm. We are also looking at

restoring some grave stones.

f. Seniors — All is fine.

g. Youth — We received a request from U.T. Project Graduation for a donation. After some

discussion, there was a motion by Anderson to donate $500.00 as that is what we gave

last year. Second by Lazenby. All ayes, motion carried.

Supervisor's Report —

a. Best presented the Annual Town Meeting Agenda for approval. Lazenby noted a typo on

the date. There was a motion by Forsberg to approved the amended agenda. Second by

Lazenby. All ayes, motion carried.

b. Best stated that our next meeting is also the same date as the election and asked if

anyone wanted to change the meeting date. All decided to keep the original meeting date.

Unfinished Business —Lazenby asked when the current insurance reimbursement changes

to the new one. Best answered May 15. Lazenby asked about the status of the for-sale sign on

the property. Best stated that somehow it got lost over the winter and, also, he has been having

some discussion from ARC about purchasing said property so he has not gotten around to buying

another for sale-sign.

New Business — Lazenby stated that the phone book does a very poor job of listing SMT phone

numbers and that is something the board must watch in the future. Budget discussion will again

take place at the next meeting, as we now have more accurate numbers.

3. Township Senior Center — Motion by Anderson for approval; second by

b. Town Fund — FICA — Motion by Forsberg for approval; second by Lazenby. Ayes:

Anderson, Lazenby, Forsberg and Best. Unanimous.

c. Town Fund — IMRF — Motion by Lazenby for approval; second by Anderson. Ayes:

Anderson, Lazenby, Forsberg, and Best. Unanimous.

d. General Assistance — Motion by Anderson for approval; second by Forsberg. Ayes:

Anderson, Lazenby, Forsberg and Best. Unanimous.

e. Road & Bridge / General Fund — Motion by Forsberg for approval; second by

Lazenby. Ayes: Anderson, Lazenby, Forsberg and Best. Unanimous.

f. Road & Bridge / IMRF Fund — Motion by Lazenby for approval; second by Anderson.

Ayes: Anderson, Lazenby, Forsberg and Best. Unanimous.

g. Road & Bridge / FICA Fund — Motion by Anderson for approval; second by Forsberg.

Ayes: Anderson, Lazenby, Forsberg and Best. Unanimous.

h. Road & Bridge / Equipment & Bldg — Motion by Forsberg for approval; second by

Lazenby. Ayes: Anderson, Lazenby, Forsberg and Best. Unanimous.

i. Road & Bridge / Insurance Fund — Motion by Lazenby for approval; second by

Anderson. Ayes: Anderson, Lazenby, Forsberg and Best. Unanimous.

j. Cemetery — Motion by Anderson for approval; second by Forsberg. Ayes: Anderson,

Lazenby, Forsberg and Best. Unanimous.

Adjournment — Motion by Forsberg, second by Anderson, that we adjourn the meeting.

Motion carried, with all voting in favor. Meeting adjourned 6:16 p.m.
