Franklin County Health & Environment Committee met Sept. 18.

COMMITTEEMAN:

Tom Vaughn - Chair - Central Dispatch

Neil Hargis - Economic Development - Animal Control

(x) Steve Leek - Supervisor of Assessments - Mapping

Jack Warren - ADA/Zoning

Danny Melvin - Bi County Health Board - Solid Toxic Waste

David Rea - Emergency Services - 911

Robert Pierce - Economic Development

Allan Price & Tom Vaughn - Tourism/Economic Development

Randall Crocker - County Board Chair - Insurance

MINUTES: The meeting was called to order at 5:40 by chair, Tom Vaughn. Not present was Steve Leek, in attendance were, Franklin County Sheriff, Don Jones, Franklin County Clerk, Greg Woolard, Franklin County Circuit Clerk, Jim Muir, Franklin County Treasurer, Keith Jones, Franklin County Engineer, Mike Rolla, Franklin County Animal Control Supervisor, Thad Snell, Franklin County Supervisor of assessments, Cindy Humm, Franklin County Board Administrative Assistant, Gayla Sink, Franklin County Recycling Coordinator, Keith Ward and other interested parties.

Rick Litton, director of FREDCO and Franklin County Tourism Council made a video presentation explaining the activities of both FREDCO and the Tourism Council.

Tom Vaughn stated he is expecting a announcement by the end of the month concerning the Rend Lake Resort.

Franklin County Sheriff, Don Jones reported 128 inmates in the Franklin County Jail over the weekend.

Franklin County Animal Control Supervisor, Thad Snell explained a rehire on the agenda for his department.

Neil Hargis reported a problem with the pens at the Franklin County Animal Control.

Randal Crocker explained items on the agenda for the regular September meeting, discussion followed.

The meeting adjourned at 6:10 p.m.
