The price of local government in 2017: City of Pinckneyville

The City of Pinckneyville budget was $10.89 million for its 2017 fiscal year, or $7,487 per household.

That's an increase of six percent from 2016, when the city spent $10.28 million, or $7,064 per household.

Pinckneyville has 1,455 households and a population of 5,536.

Since 2001, the City of Pinckneyville budget has grown by 43.2 percent, from $7.61 million. The city population has grown 1.3 percent over the same period, from 5,464.

Salaries accounted for 16.7 percent of city spending in 2017. Pinckneyville property taxpayers paid $1.82 million for 31 full-time employees and 42 part-time employees.
