Pinckneyville Community High School District 101 Board of Education met June 24.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Board of Education of Pinckneyville Community High School District #101, Perry County, Illinois, met in a regular session on the 24th of June, 2019, at 6:30 p.m. at the Pinckneyville Community High School in that district. The following officers and members of the Board were present: Greg Thompson, President; Brian Kellerman, Greg Bigham, Jennifer Robb, Jeff Suchomski, and Kyle Pursell. Lisa Stanton was absent. Keith Hagene, Superintendent, Tony Wilson, Principal, and Penny Corn, recording secretary, were also present.

The Pledge of Allegiance was conducted and PCHS Mission Statement was read by President Greg Thompson.

It was moved by Kyle Pursell and seconded by Jeff Suchomski to approve the consent agenda as presented. Roll call: Greg Thompson, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, yes and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

Visitors present: Steve Williamson, Kathy Patterson, Amanda Tinsley, and Stuart Morgenstern. Visitors were welcomed and invited to address the Board.

Mr. Wilson praised Kyla Epplin for being recognized among top FFA chapter presidents in Illinois. He praised the softball team for their successful and exciting season. He reported that Congressman Bost came to PCHS and presented Megan Breslin and Noah Conner with Congressional Records for their selection to Academic All State. He and Mr. Hagene commented on all the activities happening in the building this month, including several sports camps.

Mr. Hagene talked about budget development. He also explained that we had the bid opening for the back parking lot improvements, and will award the winning bid tonight.

It was moved by Kyle Pursell and seconded by Brian Kellerman to award the back lot improvements bid to Rooters American Maintenance for $231,969. Roll call: Greg Thompson, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, yes and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Brian Kellerman and seconded by Greg Bigham to approve the 2019-2020 Student Handbook updates as presented. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Jeff Suchomski and seconded by Brian Kellerman to approve the breakfast and lunch price increases as presented. Roll call: Greg Thompson, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, yes and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Greg Bigham and seconded by Kyle Pursell to adopt the FY 19 Amended Budget as presented. Roll call: Greg Thompson, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, yes and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

There was one FOIA request this month, which was answered in timely fashion.

It was moved by Brian Kellerman and seconded by Greg Bigham to approve the Title I Grant application for the 2019-2020 school year. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.

The master schedule for the upcoming year was briefly discussed.

It was moved by Kyle Pursell and seconded by Brian Kellerman to approve fund transfer resolution R- 2019-4 as presented. Roll call: Greg Thompson, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, yes and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Brian Kellerman and seconded by Kyle Pursell to approve the Prevailing Wage resolution as presented. Roll call: Greg Thompson, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, yes and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Jennifer Robb and seconded by Greg Bigham to employ Mrs. Colby Bigham as Junior Class Sponsor. Roll call: Greg Thompson, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, yes and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Jeff Suchomski and seconded by Greg Bigham to accept the resignation of Mr. Alan Engelhardt as Assistant Football Coach. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Brian Kellerman and seconded by Jennifer Robb to accept the resignation of Mr. Alan Engelhardt as MAPPS Sponsor. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Kyle Pursell and seconded by Jeff Suchomski to adjourn the meeting at 7:14 p.m. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.
