Carbondale City Council discusses community agency funding requests

The Carbondale, Illinois City Council discussed community agency funding requests in a meeting held earlier this week.  

In the first order of business, minutes of the regular council meeting held Feb. 23 were up for approval. A warrant for the period ending Feb. 15 in the amount of $1,519,815.46 was scheduled for a vote as well, as was the warrant for the period ending Jan. 31 in the amount of $112,471.49.

In the meeting, an ordinance authorizing budget adjustments that will increase the overall FY 2016 budget for fund and division overages was discussed. The resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an engineering agreement with RJN Group in the amount of $267,700 for continued work on the city’s sanitary wewer inflow and infiltration study was reviewed.

An ordinance amending the city's video gaming code was also up for discussion.

A resolution regarding an Economic Development Tax Increment Financing Agreement with Sai Krishna LLC for a Hilton Home2 Suites hotel project at 200 W. Elm was also discussed.
