The Carbondale Public Library Board of Trustees agreed at a recent meeting to pursue siding for the Brush annex to stop leaks in the wall.
Trustees said the leaks have been coming through the annex's south wall.
Trustees also announced that concrete work had been completed on the main building's north and northwest sides, and that new doors were on the way to make all the library's doors match.
The board also reviewed its Edge Assessment, an inventory of the library's technological progress provided by the Illinois State Library. Officials said the Carbondale Public Library scored well among other mid-sized libraries in the state, but that it would likely need to increase its bandwidth this year to continue offering and expanding its computer-based programming.
