Officials from the city of Columbia, Illinois recently requested proposals from individuals or professional real estate firms that are qualified to run the ongoing property management functions of the city.
The officials would like to hire the chosen individual or company to use their expertise to handle the ongoing real estate assets of the city. The goal is to bring about the highest benefit for the local community.
The city wants to improve its current facilities that are used for community purposes. There are also plans to strategize for future growth and to serve the local community with better efficiency.
The goal of property management is to handle the transactions, leases, and maintenance of properties under city ownership. The person or company must guarantee that the properties are purchased properly and disposed of adequately. The property must also be utilized to the highest and best use, all within the budget. A proper level of service must be provided at all times.
Responsibilities include coordinating and advising the repair and maintenance of the city’s buildings, marketing commercial property that can be leased, recommending current facilities for use, helping to plan future facilities, and more.
All proposals must be submitted by March 4 at 4:30 pm.
