After Gov. Bruce Rauner's budget speech on Wednesday, Jason Kasiar, the Republican Dist. 118 state House candidate, called for change in state government.

“It’s disheartening for me to see the future of our children and our state being mortgaged by career politicians and party politics in Springfield," Kasiar said. "We have continued to see a decline in job creation and a decrease in family and household income since 1999. It is clear that (House Speaker) Mike Madigan (D-Dist. 22) and his lack of leadership are hurting our families and our state."

Kasiar also said he was frustrated with Illinois Democrats' efforts to make President Obama's birthday a state holiday when coal miners in Southern Illinois are losing their jobs because of the Obama administration's regulatory war on coal.

Moreover, Kasiar said he hopes everything can work out and that a balanced budget can be achieved.

"It’s time to put the politics aside and do what’s best for the people of Illinois," Kasiar said. "It’s time the career politicians viewed their position as a service and not a job. It’s time they thought about future generations, and not just special-interest groups that fund their next election."
