The City of Red Bud, Illinois Planning Commission discussed limitations within the budget among other items at its recent meeting.
The commission noted at the time of the meeting there was not a surplus of available funding so any budget requests would need to be efficient in their utilization of funds. The budget packets were to be submitted within the week of the meeting date.
The commission also discussed items related to waste removal regarding two properties. One property belonging to Mike Carnahan has had 90 percent of its waste removed. The second property is now accessible by the city because its owner, Jim Allen, failed to attend a court date regarding the issue. As a result, waste removal at the property was authorized to commence.
The commission also decided that updated zoning maps will be released in March.
One item that was later discussed with city council was introduced during this meeting. It involved the transfer of a portion of property owned by a family to a son within the family. The property is not within city limits but is within one-and-a-half miles, so the country is working with the city on this matter.
