The Pickney, Illinois Community High School District (PCHS) 101 Board of Education heard reports from several student organizations at its recent meeting.
The board heard reports on WYSE, cast members, the Duster Thomas Hoops Classic and the Panther Basketball Showcase. The Duster Thomas Hoops Classic was held Dec. 28-29. The Panthers took third in the annual tournament. The Showcase was held on Jan. 30. The Showcase pairs teams that may not face each other in regular season games, giving the fans an opportunity to see their teams play against other strong teams.
The board heard informational presentations on the PCHS building and the budget. Informational updates were also presented on Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, a tentative master schedule for the upcoming school year and the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) financial status.
Also discussed were the graduation date, Education Foundation membership and overnight and out of state trip requests.
After dispensing with regular business items, the board entered a closed session to discuss personnel matters. Among the items discussed were employment and resignations, including the Assistant Softball Coach, Golf Coach and amendments to the Superintendents Contract Goals.
