The Carbondale, Illinois Liquor Advisory Board recently approved a B3 liquor license for Reel Lucky and Little Vegas Gaming LLC.
Scott Uffelman explained that Reel Lucky was relocating because the Illinois Gaming Board decided not to accommodate any more establishments at the same location.
Board member Tasis Karayiannis moved the motion to approve the Class B3 liquor license to the company, which board member Donald Monty seconded.
The board also discussed an application from Little Vegas Gaming LLC for on-premises consumption of all alcohol. Trace Brown responded to board questions. He explained that the new location, which he called “low key,” did not serve a lot of alcohol. He added that the location was partially owned by Ashley Furniture.
Monty noted that the application stated the location was not near any gas stations, and the next gas station was at least a quarter-mile from the location. Board chair Mark Robinson said he was not very comfortable about the fact that the location was situated close to a park. Brown said the location was neither dirty nor smoky.
The application for a Class B3 liquor license was eventually approved.
