The Jefferson County Board is seeking proposals to conduct a market study related to the potential for a marina development at Rend Lake in Illinois.
The Jefferson County Development Corp. is assisting the board with the distribution process.
The study basically aims to satisfy the needs of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to make sure there will be no adverse effects to existing development on the lake if there is a marina development at the Ina Boat Launch.
The board invites proposals from consultants who are interested in developing a market study for the proposed marina. The marina is proposed for land currently owned by the federal government under jurisdiction of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
The proposed development will comply with a lease for public park and recreational purposes, according to Section XII Outleases - Title 16 U.S.C. 460d of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Real Estate Handbook.
The board does not want to operate the marina. It instead wants to support development so that additional amenities within Jefferson County may be created.
Proposals, in a sealed envelope, are due at the offices of the Jefferson County Development Corp. before 3 p.m. March 11.
