The Jefferson County, Illinois Full Board is helping market the idea of the Ina Boat Ramp, according to Chairman Robert White.
At a recent meeting, White addressed the board regarding the Rend Lake Conservancy District (RLCD) referendum on the March ballot and the differences pertaining to the marketing of the Ina Boat Ramp. White noted that the board — a public entity — was promoting private business. RLCD, on the other hand, is a public entity that is using public funds to compete with private business.
White told the board union negotiations continue. He hoped to have something to bring to the board in March.
In the meeting, a motion to appoint James Malone to chair the services committee and new committee assignments was passed. Another motion to approve the revised Resolution 1-2016-01 to enter a purchase/lease agreement for EMA equipment with People’s Bank was passed.
Along with White, board members Jeff Williams, Bob Watt, Malone, Cliff Lindemann, Timothy Marlow, Tommy Hayes, Justin Fulkerson, Randy Edwards, Steve Draege, Joyce Damron and Sean Wilkey were also present at the meeting. Wayne Hicks was absent. State’s Attorney Douglas Hoffman attended the meeting as well.
During public input, Mike Bullard and Marion Sneed addressed the board about a dangerous railroad underpass in Webber Township.
