Jefferson County Board considers proposal to conduct market study for Ina Boat Ramp

A request from the Jefferson, Illinois County Development Corp. for a proposal to conduct a market study for the Ina Boat Ramp project was considered during a recent Land, Tax and Appointments Committee meeting.

The Jefferson County Development Corp. Executive Director Jonathon Hallberg was present at the meeting to discuss the request for proposal to market the Ina Boat Ramp development. The board was told that it would be an economic opportunity for Jefferson County to gain revenue and jobs. It will also be an opportunity for those who enjoy Rend Lake for additional marina and recreational resources.

Hallberg also explained the timeline that had transpired since the inception of the possible development and the criteria for the study.

Committee member Wayne Hicks moved the motion, which was seconded by Chairman Robert White. The motion was moved to recommend to the full board to approve the request from the Jefferson County Development Corp. The motion passed with no dissenting votes.

Along with White and Hicks, other committee members who were present in the meeting were Randy Edwards and Tim Marlow. Other people, who were present in the meeting, included Bob Watt, Cliff Lindemann, Hallberg, Terry Knowles, Jeremy Miller and Suzy Tate.
