Superintendent Aletta Lawrence from the Mount Vernon, Illinois City Schools, District 80, presented a three-year forecast of salary projections during a recent special meeting.
The following board members attended the meeting: President Matt Reynolds, Vice President Lora Greathouse, Brishanta Lee, Merle Hollmann, Cleo Holt and Cynthia Zirkelbach. Board member Jaymie Nunnery was absent.
According to Lawrence, the Mount Vernon City Schools received preliminary recognition status from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) regarding its financial profile. The board examined the trend comparisons of the past five year’s expenditures and revenues and studied graphs of fund balances for the past nine years.
District 80 Board of Education goals for 2016-2017 were discussed, and Lawrence was tasked with compiling a list to be reviewed at the next board meeting.
DeeAnn Schnautz, director of curriculum, instruction and assessment, gave updates on the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC). She also gave updates on eBooks and curriculum on chrome books as well as supplement curriculum.
Swan discussed after-school activities, while Top Achieving Students information was included in the board material.
